30 August 2010 - Prosport pay tribute to Oscar Ntwagae - RIP

It is with great sadness that Prosport International says goodbye to a
great sports person , Oscar Ntwagwae, a professional footballer whom
Prosport has represented for the past 6 years

Oscar died tragically on Friday 27 August 2010 , when he was hit by a motor
vehicle after leaving football training.

He began his professional football career with Silver Stars FC when the
Club was still in the second division of South African football. From Silver
Stars, Propsport negotiated his move to Mamelodi Sundowns where he won 2
PSL league titles and a a Top 8 cup. From Sundowns he was transferred to
Super Sport United where he spent 2 seasons. I suppose it was inevitable
that he would do the full circle in football and in 2008, he returned to the
Club where he first made his name, Siver Stars, which is now know as
Platinum Stars FC. At the age of 33 his contract with Platinum Stars came
to an end, and Prosport was assisting him in finding alternative employment.
He was on trial at Jomo Cosmos F.C. when the accident happened..

Oscar was a very likeable person with a pleasing and warm personality. On
the field of play he was fearless and a no nosense versitile defender, who
was very well respected by both his peers and opponents alike. He always
worked hard at his game and any coach would always want him in his starting
line - up to reflect the traits of what a true professional footballer
should display.

Oscar will be fondly remembered as a son of the Prosport family and his
early departure from this world will be a tragic loss to his family,
friends, football colleagues and the football fraternity in general.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends and to all those
who had the pleasure of watching Oscar display his God given talents on the
football field.
