Prosport International, a company that represents top international Football and Rugby players, has officially announced the opening of a branch in Ghana.
This adds to Prosport’s current network of offices situated in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town (South Africa), England and Greece as well as associate offices in Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The company, known as Prosport International-Ghana, would promote, manage and develop athletes and sports personalities, to maintain its market share in the football player management industry.
It is the leading professional sports agency and management company in Southern Africa.
Speaking to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra yesterday, Mr. Mike Makaab, Director of Global Football for Prosport announced that his company had concluded a joint venture agreement with Herbert Mensah, a leading and influential figure in Ghanaian football
circles who shared the same vision as Prosport, in ensuring effective management of careers of the vastly talented footballers in Africa.
Prosport has already placed a coach with a Ghanaian Premier League club, Real Sportive and looks forward to brokering more deals in future, Mr. Makaab added.
“We believe our company’s strategy of expanding into Africa can only strengthen our existing business interests in southern Africa and Europe”.
Mr. Herbert Mensah said he is pleased to launch the joint venture with Prosport, a serious and established company in the field of sports agency and management, stressing that it is their intention to sign and represent talented Ghanaian footballers.
He explained that Prosport has placed many players from Africa into the European and other overseas markets with placements in the top leagues in England, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Denmark, Sweden and
Norway.
Others are Finland, Austria, Belgium, Russia, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel and China.
Mr. Charles Aryee, a Director at the National Sports Council (NSC), representing the Hon. Minister for Education Science and Sports, edged Prosport to collaborate with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) so that they can assist players after their football career.
He made a special appeal to Prosport to extend its activities to other sporting disciplines, wishing the company a successful mission in the country and declaring Prosport officially launched
